1. Who we are. WhatHolistic is a trading name of Truly Empowered Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 11904082, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ ("we", "us", "the site"). These terms, together with the Code of Conduct, the Badge Terms of Use, the Verification Standard and the Privacy Policy, form the agreement between us and each member.
2. What membership is. One individual standard membership in WhatHolistic includes a published profile after verification, the member badge, profile editing, direct enquiries and activity reporting. It is a listing and verification service, not insurance, a qualification, an endorsement or a guarantee of enquiries or search rankings. A separately agreed contributor waiver applies to this directory only and requires the member's acceptance.
3. Eligibility and verification. Massage therapists: current CNHC registration for massage therapy, sports massage or sports therapy. Reflexologists: CNHC registration for reflexology, or Association of Reflexologists membership with a Find a Reflexologist page. Reiki practitioners: CNHC registration for Reiki, or UK Reiki Federation practitioner membership with a directory page. Acupuncturists: British Acupuncture Council membership, or CNHC registration for microsystems acupuncture. Each with relevant current insurance. We check the actual entry, what it shows and the dates. Other routes need a separate review before admission. We record your public register or membership entry, the therapy it covers and its status where it shows one, and current insurance evidence. Additional qualifications remain practitioner-provided unless a separate dated check is shown. You must provide accurate information and genuine evidence. See the Verification Standard.
4. Application outcome. Supply the required information within the recorded reservation period of 14 business days (Monday to Friday). Time awaiting our review does not forfeit a completed reservation. We explain missing or unclear evidence and allow 14 days to resolve it. An unsuccessful application is closed without a membership charge. Any payment taken in error receives operator refund review.
5. Free period and term. Founders and later members both receive six calendar months free, followed by £10 monthly including VAT. The free period begins on the day the approved, member-confirmed profile is published. If your profile is approved and confirmed before WhatHolistic opens to the public, and your evidence is still current, it goes live on the day the site opens. The precise first-payment date is recorded in your account in Europe/London time. There is no joining fee. Existing agreements are not automatically replaced by this offer.
6. Founding places and your price. Founding places are limited to three in each area. Your area is the town on our towns list nearest to your practice postcode, or to your home postcode if you work online only, and the largest cities are divided by Westminster parliamentary constituency. There is no closing date: founding ends in an area only when all its places are taken. Accepting the founding offer holds a place while you complete your application, and an incomplete reservation releases its place when its reservation period ends. Founders and standard members both keep their total monthly price, including VAT, for as long as they stay a member: £10 a month. Founders also have Featured included (clause 17). It never rises while your membership continues. Ordinary improvements to the core service remain included. Seven-day payment recovery, platform errors, approved administrative pauses and the 30 days after the free months in which a card can still be added (clause 7) preserve it. Voluntary cancellation ends it, as does a membership that ends, and a later return is at the offer of that time. A contributor waiver requires no card and generates no subscription revenue; it is not an ordinary founding place.
7. Monthly billing, reminders and cancellation. No card is needed to join. You explicitly authorise automatic monthly card payments when you add a card from your Membership page, and saving a card is not a payment. If you add a card with fewer than 14 days of your free months left, your first payment moves to 14 days after you add it. We confirm the first-payment date and send reminders 14 and 3 days before it. If no card has been added when your free months end, your profile is removed from public view that day and kept for 30 days. Adding a card within those 30 days restores it as it was, at your accepted price, with the first payment 14 days after the card is added and nothing charged for the time it was hidden. If a required reminder fails, is late or has an uncertain sending outcome, removal is held and a fresh 14-day notice period is given. After 30 days without a card the membership ends. A founding place is released if no card has been added by the end of the free months. If a required notice fails, is late or has an uncertain sending outcome, the first charge is held until resolved and a fresh 14-day notice period is provided without a catch-up charge. Cancel online from Membership before the first charge to pay nothing, or before a later renewal. Cancellation stops future renewals and retains access through the recorded free or paid period unless you choose immediate removal. Any payment already in progress is reviewed.
8. Contractual cancellation and refunds.
- Your free period: cancel online from Membership before your recorded first-payment date and no membership payment is taken.
- Your first monthly charge: you may cancel within 14 days of your first membership charge for a full refund of that charge, no reason needed. Email hello@whatholistic.com to request the refund; refunds go to the original payment method within 14 days.
- Later monthly charges: cancelling stops future charges; your membership runs to the end of its paid month. Charges taken in error are refunded in full.
- Declined applications: closed without a membership charge; any payment taken in error receives operator refund review (clause 4).
- Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
9. Your obligations. You agree to: comply with the Code of Conduct and Badge Terms of Use; keep your profile accurate; maintain current insurance throughout membership and supply updated documents when requested; and tell us promptly about notifiable events (Code of Conduct clause 16).
10. Failed payment. A failed payment receives seven days to recover, with the existing price protected. Update the card in your account; a saved card is not proof that the payment succeeded. If the invoice remains unpaid when recovery ends, the profile is hidden and future billing is stopped. A later return must be explicitly reviewed and authorised.
11. Suspension and removal. We may hide or remove a profile where required by evidence checks or the Complaints Procedure. An approved administrative pause saves unused free time, preserves your price and stops future billing. Any interruption to already-paid time receives operator credit review. Return requires current evidence and the member's confirmation of the revised payment date; billing does not restart merely because an operator changes a status.
12. Our service standards. We aim to review applications within a few working days of documents arriving, deliver enquiries promptly, and keep the site online continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance will be brief and, where possible, notified.
13. Liability. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability to a member in any membership year is limited to the fees paid for that year, and we are not liable for loss of profits, loss of business or indirect losses. We are not a party to any arrangement between a member and a client.
14. Data. How we handle your data, including your uploaded documents, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect; if you do not accept a material change, you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused portion of your current term. A change to these terms never raises the monthly price of an existing membership (clause 6).
16. Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction (or those of your home nation in the UK where consumer law so provides).
17. Featured Placement. Featured profiles appear ahead of standard profiles in searches for their area, with a Featured label. You have Featured if:
- you're a founding member or a contributor: it's included at no charge for as long as your membership continues, and ends when your membership ends;
- we host your website: it's included at no charge for as long as we host it. If we stop hosting it, the included Featured ends, and you can add paid Featured if a paid position is free in your area;
- you add it to your membership: it's an optional add-on at £10 a month including VAT, in one of the three paid Featured positions in each area. The offer you accept shows your combined monthly total: £20.
Among Featured profiles, the paid positions are shown first. Included Featured never takes a paid position. Featured goes live with your profile, once we've approved it and you've confirmed it. Paid Featured has the same free months as your membership, and both payments then start together, with the same reminders. A paid position counts in the area where you accepted the offer, and stays there if you later move. Featured doesn't mean you've been checked more closely or are endorsed. You can remove paid Featured online without ending your membership or losing your membership price. Featured payments then stop, and any Featured time you've already paid for runs to its end. Featured only continues while your membership does. Like your membership price, your Featured price stays the same for as long as you keep Featured and stay a member. If you already have a Featured agreement with us, its terms stay as they are.
