A check shows you the register or professional body we found them on, the therapy it covers and, where it shows one, their number, with a link to that register's own search, when we last checked their entry and insurance, and whether their listing is still active.
Not listed here? What to ask
A massage therapist, reflexologist, Reiki practitioner or acupuncturist who is not on WhatHolistic may still be registered and insured. Before you book, it is reasonable to ask:
- Which register or professional body they belong to for their therapy, such as the CNHC or the British Acupuncture Council, and their number
- The link to their entry, so you can look it up yourself
- Whether their professional insurance is current
- What a session involves, what it costs and how long it lasts
- What happens if you need to cancel
Be cautious of anyone who promises a result or says their therapy can treat a medical condition. If you have a health condition or are pregnant, speak to your GP or midwife first. Our verification standard lists the registers and bodies we accept.
