Why we built it

A clearer way to choose a holistic therapist

For 20 years we've built websites for UK therapists and health practitioners, so we know how hard it can be for a good practitioner to be found online, and for a client to tell who is properly trained.

Choosing someone for massage, reflexology, Reiki or acupuncture is a personal decision, yet the information available is often thin, and none of those titles is protected in the UK, so the title alone doesn't tell you who has trained and is on a recognised register.

WhatHolistic is our answer. We check each therapist's registration and insurance ourselves and show you the dates, with fees, session options and availability laid out the same way on every profile. It's run by Truly Empowered Ltd.

It isn't owned by, affiliated with or endorsed by any register, professional body, training provider, insurer or charity, including the bodies whose registers and listings we check. We look up entries because that's evidence you can check yourself, not because of any relationship.

We check registration and insurance, publish the dates and let you compare fairly. We aren't a register or a professional body, and we don't train anyone.

Funded by the therapists we list.

Therapists pay a published monthly fee, plus an optional fee for Featured placement, which is always labelled. Searching will be free when public search opens. We don't sell data, and we take no commission on anyone's fees.

Clear about limits.

A check here means a register or membership entry and insurance evidence reviewed on the dates shown. It isn't a guarantee of suitability or results, and we label what therapists tell us as theirs.

Plain information.

No success rates, no before-and-after pictures and no promised outcomes, on any profile or page.
